The #1 secret to having the energy to finish all your projects is Menstrual Cycle Awareness. Let me explain...

Last week, I launched my newest 40-Day meditation challenge, the Warrior’s Grace Challenge.

We had a record amount of people signing up, more than 10 times the amount that we had in the previous challenges.

I was so happy and grateful.

But with the increased demand, I thought that maybe the basic “Hey, let’s meet on Instagram Live every day” seemed like it just wasn’t enough.

I felt like I had to offer more.

So for a whole week, I upgraded the experience with group chats on Instagram and Facebook, a private Facebook group and a dedicated website just for the challenge members.

And I also thought they should get challenge calendars where they can cross off every day that they meditated.

And then I also had to film and edit the instructional video, add a voice over and the closed captions.

There was so much to do in just 5 days!

And on top of that, I actually had to go to my 9-5 job. I got up early and went to bed late so I could work on my passion project.

The night before, I pulled an all-nighter to get everything ready.

I’m not sharing all this to boast about how busy I was.

Although, being busy is definitely considered a real badge of honor in our capitalist society.

And I’m also not trying to glorify the hustle.

I hate the hustle.

Sure, if you’re a teen or in your twenties, you can hustle your booty off.

But I’m a Warrior Queen, I do not hustle.

I align. I manifest. I create. I work wisely towards my goals with resilience and grit.

Ok, no hustle, no burn out. Oh, and no caffeine, I don’t do that either. ;)

So how in the heck did I just keep going like a fluffy bunny banging on a drum?

Well, the secret to my never-ending well of energy is….

Actually, there are two secrets, I’ll share one on this post and the other one next week….


Menstrual what?!

Menstrual Cycle Awareness (MCA), having the awareness of where you are in your menstrual cycle.

Yes yes, many of you know when you’re about to bleed, but MCA goes deeper, because there are more phases to your cycle than just the bleeding.

Menstrual Cycle Awareness is like a spiritual practice where you tune into your natural rhythm and use this knowledge to plan your life.

I’m sure you’ve noticed that phase right before you bleed, you’re irritable, you might be angry at the world. Or you get into fights with your partner more easily, suddenly they’re the most annoying person in the world.

Your tongue is as sharp as a Vikings axe and you’re critical not only towards others but also yourself.

This phase is called your Inner Autumn and it’s perfectly normal to feel that way.

Wow, it’s actually ok and normal to feel like a bit of a bitch?!

Yes. And this self-acceptance is the beauty of Menstrual Cycle Awareness.

You can stop being so hard on yourself, you can start taking better care of yourself and you can understand and accept yourself more.

So, what does MCA have to do with an unending well of energy?

Well, there is a phase in your cycle where your body wants to rest. Your energy is low and you just want to hide from the world.

That phase, your Inner Winter, is exactly on those days when you’re bleeding.

And when you begin honoring that phase, you will have more energy to go for your goals and dreams.

And incidentally, when you respect your need for rest, you’ll have fewer bitchy outbursts that you need to apologize for afterwards.

Our society forces us to live in a linear way, day in and out, it’s the same thing. That’s a very masculine way of living.

But, we are women, we are cyclical beings. We come in waves like the ocean and in seasons like nature.

And when you start living according to your own rhythm, you will have more control over your emotions and feel more energetic.

So, why was I able to pull allnighters and create a beautiful experience for my meditators?

I was in my Inner Spring.

I had spent my Inner Winter (when I was bleeding) really resting. As soon as I got off work, I laid down, I didn’t cook for anyone, I didn’t do the dishes or clean the house.

My partner knows that when I’m in my Winter, I’m recharging and I’m resting.

So by the time I had to step up and create, I was well-rested and ready, eager almost to have something meaningful to do.
